The Rock Falls Water Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of water service for residents of the City of Rock Falls and the Iron Removal Facility located just South of Dillon School. We are licensed by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency to protect the public health and the environment with our services.
The Rock Falls Water Department production system consists of three shallow wells, three pressure iron removal tanks, and two elevated towers. There are approximately 68 miles of water main, 400 Fire Hydrants, and 4,000 water services from the water main to the service boxes at or near the property line.
All of the Water Department employees are qualified licensed IEPA water operators.
Each year the Water and Electric Departments award a $1,000 Scholarship to a High School Senior. Pictured is recipient Morgan Folgers.
